Book Art Hogan initiated and directed a collaborative research project: ‘the art of the book 1960–1990’ which examined the growing use of the book as an art object, mapping the relevant historical and theoretical frameworks, exploring the book format and surveying contemporary practitioners. It was based at Camberwell College of Arts and its outcomes included: Speaking of Book Art: Interviews with British & American Book Artists by Cathy Courtney (published by Anderson — Lovelace) and life story recordings made for Artists’ Lives at the British Library’s Sound Archive (Helen Douglas, Telfer Stokes and Ian Tyson).
